During Sundays in the summer months, the Canal Society operate a kayak hire from 11am to 3pm. All abilities are catered for and the society can raft kayaks together for greater stability. A great way to view the canal and its wildlife close up. Check the Canal Society website for further details.
This is a park that can offer something for everyone of all ages and interests. There are football pitches, a bowling green, two play areas, tennis courts, a BMX track, a heritage centre, and the Swansea Canal. Click the image for more information.
This waterfall is a natural beauty. Follow the river to the rear of Forge Fach and you'll be intrigued to continue walking along this scenic route of the old coal dram line up to the RSPB Bird Reserve. A good 3 mile walk.
This volunteer-run heritage and information centre is sited on the northern edge of Coed Gwilym Park, alongside the Swansea Canal. The centre, opened in 2011, contains a timeline of the village and its environs from 1794 – when construction began on the canal – to the present day. Also inside you can view DVDs and other material about various periods in Clydach’s history.
This group meets every Thursday at 5:30pm in the Community Hall at Vardre Road.
The over 50's group are always looking for more people to join them for a catch up or to go on day trips, meals etc.
A Welsh-medium youth club that runs from the Community Hall on Vardre Road every Tuesday from 7pm until 9pm.
This club meets every Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Church on High Street. Veterans have the chance to chat, laugh and have a free bacon sandwich
Despite the title, this social group is open to everyone. Just turn up for a chat and a brew. Run by Belinda Gardiner, this is a very friendly and well attended group.
This is to the rear o f the Community Hall on Vardre Road. The community garden is open to everyone of all abilities. The group meet formally on a Wednesday and the first Saturday of each month. Raining? No problem ! there is a large polytunnel too. Great for socialising and sharing ideas.
